SEO, GEO & AEO explained

Three acronyms, one underlying idea: help the right people find your business when they're looking for what you do. Below is what each term means in practice.

Search engines

SEO

Search Engine Optimization. Making your site easy for search engines like Google to understand and rank — through clear structure, fast pages, sensible page titles, and content that answers what people search for.

AI generators

GEO

Generative Engine Optimization. A newer label for helping AI tools that generate answers represent your business accurately. In practice it leans on the same foundations as good SEO: clear, well-structured, trustworthy content.

Answer boxes

AEO

Answer Engine Optimization. Structuring content so it can be used in direct answers — the short responses and summaries that search and AI tools show. Clear questions and clear answers do most of the work.

Our viewGEO and AEO overlap heavily with SEO. They are mostly new names for a consistent goal: useful, clearly structured content that genuinely answers real questions, on a site that's fast and trustworthy. Be wary of anyone selling GEO or AEO as a separate secret formula.
What we will never promiseNo one can guarantee you'll rank first, get a set number of leads, or that an AI assistant will cite or recommend your business. Those outcomes depend on competition, the platforms' own changing systems, and factors outside any provider's control. We focus on the work that genuinely improves your chances and we're upfront about the limits.
